Where to Play Book of Dead: Casinos and How to Check a License
Book of Dead is offered by hundreds of casinos, licensed and not. Below are the casinos on our list, then the part that matters wherever you play: whether online casinos are legal where you live, and how to check a license and the RTP yourself.
Casinos on our list
All three casinos below hold Curaçao licenses and don't accept players from the UK or the US. Check that the casino accepts players from your country, and open Book of Dead in its free-play mode first if the casino offers it. The game's info screen shows the RTP version the casino runs.

Where Book of Dead is legally available
Play'n GO holds 25 licenses in 24 jurisdictions, so Book of Dead runs at locally licensed casinos in many markets. Whether you can play depends on where you live, not on where the casino is based.
- United Kingdom: at casinos licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Stakes are limited to £5 a spin (£2 for ages 18 to 24), and autoplay and turbo spins are banned.
- Europe: Play'n GO is licensed in Malta, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Belgium, Greece, Romania, the Netherlands and other markets. Local rules set stake limits and which features are allowed.
- Canada: in Ontario through iGaming Ontario, and in Alberta and Quebec. The age limit in Ontario is 19.
- United States: only in states with legal online casinos where Play'n GO is licensed: New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Connecticut and Delaware. Book of Dead is confirmed live in New Jersey. The usual age limit is 21.
- Latin America: Brazil, Peru and Buenos Aires, among others.
Play'n GO's licenses mean the game can be offered there. They don't make any particular casino legal for you. Always check the casino's own license.
Casinos licensed in Curaçao, including those on our list, are not licensed in the UK or the US. Using them may not be legal where you live, and you have fewer protections if something goes wrong. Check your local law first.
How to check a casino's license
A logo in the footer proves nothing on its own. Check the license in the regulator's public register.
Find the license in the footer
A licensed casino names its regulator, its company and a license number at the bottom of the page. No license details is a red flag.
Look it up at the regulator
UK: the Gambling Commission register. Malta: the MGA register. Ontario: the AGCO list. Michigan: the MGCB list of legal sites.
Match the domain
The register lists the websites a company may run. The MGA has warned about sites copying licensed brands, and Michigan's regulator advises checking the URL, not just the brand name.
Check the game itself
Genuine Book of Dead loads from Play'n GO's servers and shows its RTP in the rules screen. Copies of Play'n GO games have appeared on unlicensed sites, so a missing rules screen is a warning sign.
Three checks before you play for real money
1. The RTP version
Open Book of Dead's rules and find the RTP. The top version is 96.21%; the lowest is 84.18%. Our RTP guide explains the difference in dollars.
2. The bonus terms
If you accept a welcome offer or free spins, read the wagering, win cap and expiry first. Our free spins guide lists the red flags.
3. Your limits
Set a deposit limit when you register. If a casino makes it hard to set limits or to close your account, play elsewhere.
Every game we review has a free-play version. See our free demos page for where to find them.
