Book of Dead Guide
How we review Rich Wilde slots
Every review on this site follows the same method, so scores are comparable across the series. Here's where our numbers come from, how we score, and how often we update.
On this page
Where the numbers come from
- Official data first: Play'n GO's game pages, launch announcements and the in-game paytable and rules screens.
- Cross-checking: each game's facts are compared across 10 or more independent reviews and industry media. These include SlotCatalog, BigWinBoard, OLBG, AboutSlots and AskGamblers.
- Disagreements: when sources conflict, we say so on the page and explain which figure we use and why.
- Tracker and simulation figures (bonus frequencies, max-win odds) are labeled with their source; they are estimates, not official data. Play'n GO doesn't publish them for Book of Dead.
- RTP versions: most Play'n GO slots come in several RTP versions. We list them all and explain how to check the one your casino runs.
What we check in the demo
We read each game's paytable and rules screens and take screenshots of them. Those screenshots appear in the reviews. Where the in-game screen disagrees with a published source, the in-game screen wins.
We haven't run a recorded test session yet, so no review reports results such as balances, bonus counts or dry spells. If we run one, we'll publish it with its method: number of spins, bet size, date and RTP version.
How we score
Each game gets four scores out of 10, and the overall score is close to their average:
- Bonus feature: depth and variety of the bonus and how clearly it's presented.
- Win potential: the max win, how often the bonus lands and the RTP.
- Gameplay: the base game, pacing and how easy the rules are to follow.
- Design and sound: visuals, animation and audio.
Scores are editorial opinions. We have no commercial partners, and if that ever changes, partners will have no say in scores.
How often we update
We review every page at least every three months and whenever a game changes, a new RTP version appears or a new game is released. The "Updated" date only changes when the content really changes.
