Book of Dead Max Win: How the 5,000x Works
The Book of Dead max win is 5,000x your bet. The game's rules put it as 250,000 coins. There's essentially one way to get there, and the estimated odds are about 1 in 2.7 million spins.
How the 5,000x max win happens
The top prize needs one specific outcome in the free spins: Rich Wilde chosen as the special expanding symbol, then landing on all five reels in one spin. Each reel expands, the screen fills with Rich, and every one of the 10 lines pays five of a kind.
Five Rich Wildes pay 5,000x the line bet. Ten lines of that is 50,000x the line bet, and with 10 lines your total bet is ten line bets. So the spin pays 5,000x your total bet.
The rules screen states the same cap in coins: "Win up to 250000 coins". At the maximum 5 coins on 10 lines, the bet is 50 coins, and 50 × 5,000 is 250,000.
Is there another route?
Not in practice. Five Tomb Scatters pay 200x, and a base-game line of five Rich Wildes pays 500x. The Pharaoh expanded on all five reels pays 2,000x. Only a full screen of Rich reaches the cap.
A full screen of K in the free spins. With Rich Wilde in the same pattern, this would be the 5,000x max win.
What 5,000x pays at each bet
Most casinos offer Book of Dead from $0.10 to $50 a spin with all 10 lines. In the UK the stake limit is £5 per spin, or £2 for players aged 18 to 24, which caps the max win at £25,000 and £10,000.
Treat the max win as the ceiling, not a target. It's what's possible, not what's likely.
| Bet per spin | Max win (5,000x) |
|---|---|
| $0.10 | $500 |
| $0.50 | $2,500 |
| $1 | $5,000 |
| $5 | $25,000 |
| $50 | $250,000 |
The odds of hitting 5,000x
Play'n GO doesn't publish max-win odds. Data sites that simulate the game do: BigWinBoard and SlotCatalog both estimate about 3.75 in 10 million, roughly 1 in 2.7 million spins. OLBG's "1 in 3.75 million" appears to be a misreading of the same number.
To put that in perspective: at 600 spins an hour, 2.7 million spins is more than 4,000 hours of play. Most players will never see it, and that's fine. The free spins are exciting long before Rich fills the screen.
The player tracker Slot Tracker reports a best recorded bonus round of about 5,042x across its tracked spins. We haven't found any verified news report of a specific max-win payout, so we don't quote one.
A 5,000x win at $1 is $5,000. Reaching it would take, on average, millions of dollars of wagering at the same bet. No strategy or bet pattern improves the odds.
Max win of every Rich Wilde slot we review
Newer games raise the ceiling. Three of the ten reach 10,000x, double Book of Dead. Tome of Madness is the outlier at 2,000x.
Every figure here was checked on the game's own rules screen except Doom of Dead, where we rely on independent reviews.
